Guided Body Scan
Body scans can be practiced lying down or sitting relaxed and in a comfortable position. It is also best if the environment is free from too many disturbances.
Body scans can at times be overwhelming, particularly when working through trauma symptoms. If feelings of overwhelm or strong discomfort arise, you may want to shift your focus to a part of the body that feels safe or stop all together. This practice is meant to synchronize our body and mind, and we can always choose whether to lean in to the practice or lean out depending on what we feel is best.
